On-Demand - Perinatal Mood & Anxiety Disorders

Participants in this training will gain knowledge of the spectrum of mental illnesses known as Perinatal Mood and Anxiety Disorders (PMADs) including etiology and prevalence.  Participants will become familiar with the Edinburgh Postnatal Depression Screening Scale (EPDS) including scoring mechanism.  Students will learn about effective treatment modalities including home-based psychotherapy.  Participants will learn about Postpartum Support International and the National Coalition for Maternal Mental Health.  Attendees will also learn about statewide and local efforts to address stigma and treatment of these disorders.  Students will learn the prevalence of perinatal loss and the relationship to PMADs.
