FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

Q: Do I need to have an account with The Connecticut Women's Consortium to register for a training?

A: Yes. You must create an account, or log into your existing account with us, to purchase a training. If you checkout as a guest, you will be unable to access your CECs. If you are having difficulties, please call the Education & Training department for assistance at (203) 909-6888 x2.

**Please note that if you have not trained with us since 2020, you will need to create a new account.

Q: What is the cancellation/refund policy?

A: We do not offer credit on account for training cancellations. If you can no longer attend a training you've registered for, you must call the Consortium and speak with a staff member to immediately transfer into another course or request a refund. You may only transfer a credit up to three times. Please note that refunds, minus a 25% administration fee, are only available up to 48 hours ahead of the training. Alternatively, you may transfer into another course of your choosing up until 9am on the training day. Conferences and special events may have different cancellation policies. Please refer to the individual conference page to learn more.

**On-demand courses are only refundable if you have not yet started the course. If you have selected an on-demand course in error and have not yet started it, you must call and speak with a staff member to receive a refund minus a 25% administration fee.

Q: What do I do if my agency is paying with a check/purchase order?

A: If registering using a purchase order or check request form, download our registration form and send it along with a copy of your signed purchase order or check request form. Completed documents can be emailed to [email protected] or faxed to (203) 909-6894.  Alternatively, you can mail a check with your registration form(s). There is a $25 bank & handling fee for all returned checks. Failure to pay this fee will prevent you from registering for future courses. If payment is not received at least 3 business days before the training date, Continuing Education Credits (CECs) will be withheld until payment is completed. Additionally, on-demand courses will remain inaccessible until payment is received.

Checks and purchase orders are payable to The Connecticut Women's Consortium and can be sent to:

ATTN: Education & Training,

The Connecticut Women’s Consortium

2321 Whitney Avenue, Suite 401

Hamden, CT 06518

Q: How can I register a group?
A: To register a group, you will need to fill out a registration form for each individual and send with an agency purchase order, via fax (203)909-6894 or email ([email protected]). Please refer to the question directly above this for additional information regarding the purchase order process.

Q: Can I register over the phone?

A: In order to protect you as a consumer, we are not able to accept credit card payments or registrations over the phone. All registrations must be made through our online store. If you do not want to process you registration online, you must mail a registration form with a check to:

ATTN: Education & Training,

Q: What type of continuing education credits do you offer?

A: All our catalog training courses are approved for continuing education credit (CEC) by the CT Chapter of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW/CT) and the CT Certification Board (CCB-CT). NASW/CT approvals are valid in MA, RI, and VT. We do not offer Continuing Medical Education (CME) credits. CCB-CT has national CEC reciprocity through NAADAC and IC&RC. If you have questions about whether or not your state accepts our CEC approvals, please contact your local accrediting board for more information.

Q: To whom do your continuing education credits apply?

A: NASW/CT CEC approvals are applicable to the following license types: Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Master of Social Work (LMSW), Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and Licensed Clinical Psychologist (PsyD). CCB-CT approvals are applicable to the following license types: Licensed Alcohol & Drug Abuse Counselor (LADC) and Certified Addiction Counselors (CAC)

Q: Do you offer national continuing education credits?

A: We offer national approval through the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) on select online courses. Look for the national approval designation during registration. The CT Certification Board (CCB-CT) offers national and international continuing education credit (CEC) reciprocity through NAADAC and IR&RC for LADCs and CACs. We offer national approval for many large events and conferences, check individual event details for more information.

Q: If I have to leave early on the day of a training or arrive late, will I get Continuing Education Credits (CECs) for the time that I was present?

A: No, partial credit is not given. If you arrive 30 minutes after the start of the event or leave during the event for any reason you will not receive credits, as you have not completed training in full. Sign-in typically begins 30 minutes before each event. You are required to sign in and out, before and after the training to receive CECs. In accordance with the accreditation standards of The National Association of Social Work (NASW), continuing education hours are only given to those individuals who have completed training in the entire workshop. We ask that you sign in and out of the training session even if you do not require CECs.

For virtual events, you must log into Zoom with your first and last name, matching the name you registered with. Zoom automatically tracks your attendance, including any breakout sessions. Please note that participation in breakout sessions is an important part of the training experience and counts towards your total attendance for all virtual trainings. If you miss more than one breakout session, Consortium staff members will provide you with a written and verbal warning. If you do not join the breakout session or contact Consortium staff as directed in the written and verbal outreach, you will be removed from the training.

A: Online courses and virtual trainings are two different options to learn from home with us. You can review the differences between the two below.
On-demand online courses...

  • are pre-recorded lectures available to you on-demand for 365 day after purchase.
  • can be paused and resumed as often as you'd like.
  • include PowerPoint and video of the trainer.
  • include a quiz/learning assessment upon completion.
  • are counted as home study CEC hours.

Live virtual trainings...

  • are live presentations with an opportunity to interact with the presenter and other participants.
  • have pre-scheduled dates and times and must be taken in real time.
  • require pre-registration and participants will receive training materials and a link to access the course a minimum of 2 business days ahead of the training date.
  • are counted as in-person CEC hours.

Q: How long do I have to finish an On-Demand Course?

A: You have 365 days from the date of purchase t complete an On-Demand course.

Q: How do I access my continuing education credits?

A: Within 5-7 business days after the training, you will receive an email from [email protected] that will explain how to access your credits. Please check your spam or junk mail folders if you do not see the email in your inbox. If you still cannot find the email, then you may follow the instructions below:

2. Click on “My CE Credits”. You will see the course listed under “Pending Credit” and can submit for credit on this page.

A: For the best user experience, we strongly suggest you access your certificate from a desktop or laptop computer. If you opt to use a mobile device, follow the instructions listed in the question directly above.

Q: How do I access order statements and receipts from previous trainings I have purchased?

  1. Log into your account at www.womensconsortium.configio.com/login
  2. Select "My Account" from the menu bar.
  3. From the drop down menu under "My Account", select "Orders" and "Order History"

Q: What is your relationship to your trainers?

A: The Connecticut Women's Consortium is dedicated to providing high quality professional behavioral health trainings on a variety of cutting-edge topics. To do this, the Consortium contracts with many independent trainers and consultants who are not employed directly with our office. The opinions and positions expressed by our contracted trainers are their own and do not necessarily represent the beliefs of the Consortium.

Q: Do you ever cancel training?

We reserve the right to cancel a program at any time due to inclement weather, faculty emergencies, or low attendance. For trainings canceled due to low enrollment, we will notify you of the cancellation via email and you will be given the option of transferring to another course or receiving a full refund. For trainings that are canceled due to weather or emergency, we will attempt to reschedule the training as soon as possible; if we are unable to or you cannot attend the rescheduled date, you will be given the option of transferring to another course or receiving a full refund.

Q: What happens if a course is full but I still want to attend?

A: When a course hits the maximum amount of participants, a wait list will become available for sign-ups if applicable. To be added to the wait list, you can click on the course of interest, then click on "wait list". Once you successfully add your name to the wait list, you will receive a confirmation email. It is important to note that being on the wait list does not guarantee enrollment. If a seat becomes available, all individuals on the wait list will receive an email notifying them of the opening. It will then be first come, first serve. Be sure to follow the instructions on the email to register for the open slot. If you see that only the wait list option is listed, then someone else registered for the open space ahead of you and the course is once again full. There is no need to sign up for the wait list again if this occurs, as your place on the list will automatically roll over.

Q: What if I have an accessibility request?

A: You will be asked about accessibility requests during the registration process (online and on paper registration forms). Requests for ASL interpreters require two-weeks of advanced notice to guarantee availability. Our Hamden office is wheelchair accessible. For off-site events and conferences, please email us at [email protected] or call us at 203-909-6888 x2 with accessibility questions or concerns.

Q: Do you offer scholarships for training?

If you are experiencing financial hardship but would still like to attend one of our trainings, please contact us at 203-909-6888 x 2 or email us at [email protected]. We are committed to making our programs accessible and will work with you to explore available options.

Q: Can I bring children? Do you have a space for nursing mothers?

Though open to the public, our trainings and events are geared for adults aged 18 and up; we ask that participants refrain from bringing children to trainings and events unless otherwise noted on the event page. For nursing mothers, we have private space available in our wellness room located in our 4th-floor suite. Please ask a staff member for access to that space and to use the fridge to store milk. For nursing mothers attending offsite events or conferences, please contact the venue directly with questions or concerns.

Q: Can I take photos or tag CWC on social media?

A: Yes! We encourage all participants to take photos at our trainings and events, just be sure to tag us. We are on Facebook, Instagram, and LinkedIn. If you are including other participants in the photo or tag, please be sure you have asked their permission before posting. We reserve the right to photograph, record, or film classes. For more information, read our privacy policy.

Q: Do you have a policy for participants who exhibit disruptive or inappropriate behaviors?
A: The Connecticut Women’s Consortium reserves the right to mute, turn off camera access, or remove attendees who are participating in a disruptive or inappropriate manner while attending training on Zoom. Furthermore, the Consortium reserves the right to request on-site training participants to leave for disruptive or inappropriate behaviors.
