Mindful Self-compassion (MSC) is an empirically supported program designed to cultivate the skill of self-compassion. Research shows that 70% of the population is kinder to their friends than they are to themselves. MSC helps us change this common dynamic by cultivating good will toward ourselves, especially when we're suffering. Instead of judging ourselves for our personal inadequacies and shortcomings, MSC helps us meet our failings with kindness and understanding. It is a life-transforming practice that changes lives and relationships from the inside out.
Mindful Self-Compassion is an eight-week course that is based on the evidence-based Mindful Self-compassion program developed by Kristin Neff, Ph.D. and Chris Germer, Ph.D., both world-leading experts in self-compassion. MSC teaches 3 core practices: 1. Mindfulness, or the practice of being in the present moment with our struggles; 2.Recognizing that your suffering and imperfections are part of community humanity and therefore you are not alone in your suffering; 3.How to bring Self-kindness to yourself through our attitudes, intentions and actions.
It is an 8 week program (with an additional retreat evening for a total of 9 sessions) designed to meet virtually for 2.5 hours.
Dates: Wednesday January 10th through March 6th. Meeting time is 6:30pm - 9:00pm via Zoom

MSC is for everyone including people of all backgrounds and identities. No previous experience with mindfulness or meditation is required. It is ideal for newcomers to mindfulness who are interested in greater self-care and kindness.
